MIGHTY HANDY STORY

Hi, I’m Melita Hamilton, owner and founder of Mighty Handy Restrooms.

Starting Mighty Handy has felt very much like going back to my roots.

I grew up on a remote bushland property in northern NSW, where we cooked on a wood stove, used kerosene lamps and collected rainwater. Our outdoor “facilities” were quite literally a hole in the ground beneath a tin roof — thankfully, outdoor amenities have come a very long way since then!

From a young age, I developed a practical, hands-on approach to life, and I’ve always been “handy” — which is where the Mighty Handy name originated.

I was naturally drawn into the building and construction industry, where I spent many years working with prefabricated buildings and modular products. After leaving the city behind and settling in a quiet town a few hours from Brisbane, the vision for Mighty Handy Restrooms began to take shape.

Mighty Handy Restrooms is an independently operated Australian business built on genuine hands-on experience, honest advice and personal customer service. I genuinely care about helping people find the right solution for their property and lifestyle.

I’m incredibly fortunate to work alongside a trusted network of long-term suppliers, trade partners and logistics specialists. Their support allows Mighty Handy Restrooms to deliver quality products reliably and efficiently to customers right across Australia.

Rather than focusing on volume, I prefer to focus on quality over quantity. I’ve also tried to add a little extra flair, with a range of external cladding colours and custom layout options designed to look great as well as perform well.
